Bolt_Crank Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 what's the percentage of driveline loss in the W's? specifically my Z34.... fucking POS 4t60E... according to G-tech, I put 141HP to the wheels Quote
mfewtrail Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 G-Tech sucks...get on a dynamometer to get a real reading, I would imagine you have more than 141hp to the wheels with the DOHC unless it's really sick Quote
Robby1870 Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 I would say 20-30% when the TC isnt locked up. Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted December 24, 2003 Author Report Posted December 24, 2003 I hope to hell G-Tech is wrong :? Quote
Thabulldog Posted December 25, 2003 Report Posted December 25, 2003 So then 20% of 210 is 42hp, so like 168 Quote
excelsior Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 w/ good tires i think you can keep about 85% perhaps Quote
dbtk2 Posted January 1, 2004 Report Posted January 1, 2004 w/ good tires i think you can keep about 85% perhaps Tires don't have anything to do with power loss. The power is already lost by the time it gets to the tires. A manual transmission wouldn't have as much power loss as an automatic because it is a simpler machine, so a manual will bring you down to around 15% or so. Tires aren't going to do crap for power loss. Shawn Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted January 1, 2004 Author Report Posted January 1, 2004 okay... so lets say about 17.5% driveline loss, from 200HP that's 165HP at the wheels... dammit.... I need traction, lol Quote
joey b Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 they guy that ran the dyno at the 2002 WBG (no, I was not there) said about 18 for the manuals and 20 for the auto's. Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted January 3, 2004 Author Report Posted January 3, 2004 I'm really hoping it's traction problems then  Quote
Bolt_Crank Posted January 11, 2004 Author Report Posted January 11, 2004 got some new tires... did 4 runs... 156 + 148 + 164 + 173 / 4 = 160.25 200 * 0.80 = 160HP woooo Quote
