DEMonte1997
Lately when accelerating up past 4K rpms, I hear a pinging/jingling sound coming from under the hood. Any suggestions for what is wrong? I run 87, so I'm guessing it might be that. It doesn't happen when it shifts, so I don't think it would be the tranny. Could it be the timing chain? I know the LQ1 has a timing chain and a belt.. Car is sitting at 41K miles and it is really well cared for. Thanks in advance for any input. 5speedz34
Possibly spark knock or a wire arching? Try changing the gas to 89 and see what that does for yah.
scorpion_x9
old post... but anyways. It sounds kinda like the same thing I have, I found out that it's part of the AC compressor clutch when it's disengaged. Try turning on your AC and revving again, see if it jingles again.
