Lee
I want to replace the fuel filter on my Regal. Underneath the car the fuel filter connections look like new, which they aren't, I've had the car seven years, BUT, the lines on either side of it are a bit rusty and the line connections are really rusty. I'm not feeling good about trashing the lines and connectors. It really looks like a self destruct job if I start. I sprayed the lines and connectors with WD-40 and left 'em for now. Any good ideas on how to get super careful loosening the filter connections?
DOHCZ34
A few of W-bodys I have done fuel filters on have this problem. I would just try vice grips, and if that doesnt work then you have to cut and splice new Lines.
gp90se
if the fittings are rounded so that line wrenches wont fit on them, PB breakfast and a couple pairs of vice grips on the fittings VERY tight and give it a shot, otherwise, like DOHCZ34 said, you'll be splicing in new lines. By the way, i did my own independant test on wd-40 vs pb breakfast, the pb works much better. -Jeff
Slade901
Monkey wrench or pipe wrench would work as well.
