SigEpCutlass
Oh I'm so excited! I just installed my K&N drop in filter and I changed my car over to Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 Synthetic Racing Oil. My acceleration is so much better and i definately see the K&N power difference too! Damn why didn't i do this sooner.
cutsup1996
I dunno why didn't you. J/K man thats cool. I got a K&N cone on and just had amsoil tranny fluid put in the other day, yeah they both made a big difference. I always run Mobil 1, might run amsoil now, especially after I noticed the difference in the tranny.

ThunderBat
I've yet to try the synthetic oil route but I just bought my 93 Lumina Euro last week. In that time I've added a K&N drop in filter and split exhaust w/twin cherry bombs topped off by Chevelle SS widemouth oval exhaust tips. It sounds great and it feels like twice the car it was a week ago. Such little changes and so much fun! btw, I did notice one glaring deficency with my Lummie....NO BLOODY CUPHOLDERS!!!! (its ok tho, I fixed that little problem too!)
ThunderBat
I'm afraid I would have to disagree that mufflers make no performance improvement. A good free flowing exhaust system is one of the quickest ways to better performance. Going from the stock single muffler to larger tubing with smooth bends and free flowing mufflers can make a huge difference. As a matter of fact, I have seen guys way overdo it by going to huge tubing and mufflers with little or no restriction and in the process completely kill all of their low-end torque response. Even the racers at your local dragstrips who run Super-Pro and the like often vary their torque peak by using different length header extensions. I've never seen a performance car of any kind that didn't have a free flowing exhaust.

93GTP
I agree.. an entire EXHAUST system.. mufflers on their own do little or nothing. That's definetely untrue. When you install a muffler like a Magnaflow versus the stocker, there will definetely be a noticable improvement.
