Justin
Pretty common to the base cluster, it was made by GM. The soldered joints crack I believe. The upscale cluster is made by nippondenso, and as much as I don't like anything imported, it is a great cluster.
90KUTTY
Your best bet is just to find another base cluster or just find the upgraded cluster, ive heard its best to find another one cause its not worth to get solder joints resoldered, I guess it won't last that long. stlunatics2oo3
yeah just get another one cause mine did that so i upgraded to the gauges cluster which is much better and is easy to wire up i just cut enough off the pig tail from the car i got the cluster from so i could just splice together and so far nothing is wrong and all you will need for the upgrade is the cluster with the pig tail oil pressure sensor and coolant temp sensor so about 100 bucks worth of stuff and then if you do the upgrade you will have an orange wire that isn't connected but it is your tachometer wire you splice it into the ALDL orange wire thanks happy holidays Jeremy
