Nick1234
The car is just about ready to roll over to 104,000 and i have yet to replace the coils. I did though replace the ignition module. My question is, should they be replaced. Am i losing any power? The car doesn't run bad, but sometimes feels sluggish. Thanks for the help. Redfox340
Iginition coils rarely need replacing but they do go out from time to time. However it's very abrupt and you'll know when a coil goes out. If you're feeling sluggish, you may want to consider a Top-End Intake Cleaner, and a basic tune-up. What have you done in the last 15K miles? - Erik
Nick1234
I take pretty good car of my engine. I ran top-end-cleaner through her about 6k ago, i change my oil and filter every 3k miles, newer k&n filter, cleaned the IAC and and the throttle body, plugs and wires have about 20,000 miles on them maybe? Somewhere around there, fuel filter was replaced a year ago, new fuel pump....so i take good care of it, so i don't know why she can be sluggish, but anywho thats what i have done Nick
DOHCRagtopguy
Old Saying: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Coils either work or don't-you'll know if one goes out. Run a good fuel system cleaner thru it, I'll bet your injector tips are a little bit carboned up. I recommend CRC Fuel Injector Cleaner. Redfox340
What are you meaning by a "top end cleaner"??????I never heard that term before is it a VW term No, it's a real thing. It takes out a ton of crud from the upper and lower intake manifold. It's been posted several different times: GM Intake Cleaner & Top-End Cleaner. Plus, cut me some slack on the VW issue; remember, I still post valuable information for many of you. - Erik
