CuttyBawl Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 (edited) I am having trouble trying to find my factory firewall grommet location on my 1990 Cutlass Supreme sedan. I am trying to run my audio cord to the battery. The problem I'm having is finding out a good location to run it through, factory or not. Anybody have any ideas that can help me figure out the right direction? Edited August 8 by CuttyBawl spelling Quote
Solution Bake82 Posted August 14 Solution Report Posted August 14 I drilled my own hole in the driver's side to run the cable through and then installed my own gromnet. it's a tough spot to drill but can be done. IIRC I did it from the inside. Just have to be careful nothing is on the other side of the hole (fuel/brake lines/wires) Quote
White93z34 Posted August 16 Report Posted August 16 Dumb question but is your car column shift? Quote
55trucker Posted August 16 Report Posted August 16 One goes thru the grommet that is just to the left (drivers side) of the vacuum booster, drawback is one has to remove the booster to see the grommet that is already there. Quote
CuttyBawl Posted August 23 Author Report Posted August 23 (edited) Yes it is Column Shift. Which reminds me I have to figure out why there's no indication of what gear I'm in. Bake82's Solution is the method I took for my OP. Edited August 23 by CuttyBawl Quote
White93z34 Posted August 23 Report Posted August 23 ok, I believe column shift cars got the shift cable through that grommet which is why its not available for you. My z34 has a clutch master cylinder there but I found a place to make a hole for the positive wire for my amp. Quote
