bluecalais79 Posted May 6, 2023 Report Posted May 6, 2023 Does anyone have any tips on troubleshooting the power windows, my Passengers side rear window went up and down for the first few months I owned the car but it's no longer working. I hear a click in the relay which is (probably) located in the left side of the dash when I press the button, I just scored 2 nos back window switches on E Bay but that's a back up. thanks Quote
jmjp5055 Posted May 6, 2023 Report Posted May 6, 2023 This is just a guess , your window motor may be worn out or a bad ground , open hot wire , any sound at the window location, you’ll probably have to expose the window motor, test at the terminal to check for power Quote
rich_e777 Posted May 6, 2023 Report Posted May 6, 2023 You`re going to need to get the door card panel trim ect off first. I`d probe the switch to see it gets 12V, then I`d probe the window motor connection to see if the switch is sending said 12V along as it should to the motor. 94 olds vert 1 Quote
mechanic80 Posted November 13, 2023 Report Posted November 13, 2023 I could use a left rear window switch if it's of no use to you. Quote
Human Posted May 23 Report Posted May 23 My '95 vet has had the same issue for a couple of years, now. The passenger side rear window doesn't work, either from the driver's door switch or the one just below the window. Life's been throwing enough else at me that I haven't had the energy to worry about it, but it's on the list (litany?) of things that need fixing on this car. Quote
bluecalais79 Posted August 7 Author Report Posted August 7 I think there is a flat spot in the armature (?) of the motor. My back rear window goes down fine but on the way back up it will reach a spot where it stops and I have to pull up on the window to help it up, the motor re-catches and it then goes up (while I have my finger on the switch of course). This flat spot seems to always be in a different position. I do not dare anymore to put the window all the way down, I leave enough of it showing to be able to pull it up. However, I have been advised the motor needs to be tapped with a blunt instrument (crowbar) if it is not going up or down at all. For my 94 I can see the motor and get at it with the crowbar if you remove the armrest ash tray. Unfortunately I do not think this is possible with the 95's and/or a bench seat vert as the panel is different. You would have to work it from the opening at the top back of the interior panel when the top is up which is a bit more challenging. Nevertheless you will need a 3rd hand, someone will need to be operating the switch while you tap. Quote
