Francine Henderson Posted January 10, 2023 Report Posted January 10, 2023 Hi. I bought my son a 1993 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and I’m looking for a part to fix his car. It’s the timing belt tensioner (part number 24503860). jiggity76 1 Quote

Sorry wrong forum, however for that DOHC 3.4 engine those tensioners are pretty much gone. Someone posted in a Pontiac Fiero forum in 2021 about 6-7 left among various dealerships out west but I doubt theres any left now. It was also said these actuators can be "rebuilt" https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/145159.html One website that came up in a search claiming to have them is http://oemcats.com/oem-parts/24503860.html#details. IDK if legit site or not. Quote

White93z34 Posted June 19, 2023 Report Posted June 19, 2023 Moved to Powertrain. I'll file this under "things i'm concerned about going into the future" When I did my belt back in 2017 they were getting scarce then. Quote
Schurkey Posted June 19, 2023 Report Posted June 19, 2023 I've just reused 'em. Wind the spring back after installing fresh/clean oil. Quote
