broken knock sensor connector (3.1)

are new knock sensor pigtails available or should i just get a good one from a salvage yard? mine is now broken - how do you remove these things without breaking them? thanks

You mean the connector to the Knock Sensor? Umm I would just splice the wires, mine didn't break when I did mine. :twisted:

mine must have gotten brittle cuz it just crumbled when i took it off. do they just pull straight off? might be a stupid question but i don't want to break another.

i can relate to the situation...the first time i changed the oil in my cutty i did something similar. I nailed the housing of the knock sensor with the handle of the oil filter wrench, and ended up messing up the sensor itself. So, i just replaced the knock sensor. All is good now, i'm just a ton more careful around there. It's a bad place to have it just stick out, but whateva. Btw i bought mine from the dealership, but that was because NAPA was out of them. I think it was ~ $60 from the Olds dealer near me.
