lolumz34 Posted December 12, 2003 Author Report Posted December 12, 2003 Great find at a great price, starrchik! Ah...that...haha.. My ebay acct is suspended...they thinkI'm someone else. So I had to get a friends gf to bid on them Hey...they have 225/40/r18's wil those fit under my car alright? Quote
93GTP Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 245/40/18's will be a perfect fit, so you won't have any problems. I love those wheels, they look badass on the GTP and Z34. I'm thinking about getting them eventually. Quote
lolumz34 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Report Posted December 13, 2003 Hey man...read that again I said they were 225's that's what he sent me... Quote
93GTP Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 I read what you said perfectly. What I said is that 245/40/18's clear without problems, so obviously a smaller 225 will fit. Quote
lolumz34 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Report Posted December 13, 2003 oh..I'm sorry.. ok..so what are the numbers 225 (is what) / 40 (is what) / 18 (is what) just so I know for sure. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 oh..I'm sorry.. ok..so what are the numbers 225 (is what) / 40 (is what) / 18 (is what) just so I know for sure. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/general/size.htm Quote
93GTP Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 The first number is the width of the tire, in millimeters. So a 245 series tire is 245 mm wide. The second number, "40" is the side wall height, but the way it's measured is in percent. It is "40" percent of the width of the tire. So the sidewall height of a 245/40 tire is 245 x .40 = 98mm, and for a 225/40 tire it is 225 x .40 = 90mm The last number is the diamater of the rim, in inches. So, 18" wheels. Which in 077's look awesome on a Z34. Would you consider selling me them for 100 dollars? 8) Quote
lolumz34 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Report Posted December 13, 2003 so then by that math.. the 225's will have a lower profile then the 245's right? Quote
93GTP Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 Yeah, they are. When those tires wear out you gotta promise me you'll get 245's though 8) Quote
lolumz34 Posted December 13, 2003 Author Report Posted December 13, 2003 yeah...these tires will only be on there for 1 season then I'm going to get the 245's Quote
Ribbie Posted December 13, 2003 Report Posted December 13, 2003 are all grand ams 5x115 or just the newer ones? Just the newer ones. I have a bran new Alero, same thing. Quote
