gr_elvis
The strangest thing happened to me today, my. 93 Cutlass ignition would not turn off it just turned freely no resistance at all. It doesn't engage . What is the problem?
55trucker
I take it that you're referring to the ign key cylinder assembly?

Probably something in the link between the lock cylinder you put the key into, and the actual ignition switch near the base of the steering column. Leadfoot
As stated above. It's broken and you need to take it apart. I know that's probably not what you want to hear. Have you dug into something like this before?

gr_elvis
What do I need to take apart? I know that to you these seem like stupid questions but I have never had this happen before.
55trucker
I'll ask this question 1st, is the key cylinder springing back to *run* when you release the key from the *start* position?
Schurkey
Time to buy a REAL service manual. I get 'em on eBay at advantageous prices.
