Ive been told by other mechanics that they are better built then the 4t60 and the 4t60e what do you guys think?
cutlassdude96
they have there problems too, like with the TCC going out causing the engine to die

Ive been told by other mechanics that they are better built then the 4t60 and the 4t60e what do you guys think? the 3t40/125c is a light duty trans and I would not recommend it in a car much heavier than an N-body, and definitely not behind a v6 (which of course did not stop GM from offering the base T code 3.1 with a 3t40) the 440t4/4t60(e) is a heavier duty tranny and works better in heavier cars and is a must have behind any of the larger buick V6's (3.3/3.8) aside from all the graemlins either can have, 3t40s tend to lose the TCC, which can be patched via a plug. the 4t60's dont lose the TCC anywhere near as oftern, and in their case cannot be unplugged without destroying the tranny - but at the same time, a 4t60 is VERY sussceptible to instant death should you go from R to D with the engine anything over 700ish rpm idle long story short - 4t60 gets my vote
