kcac
What fastener is used for the two front fasteners on the washer fluid bottle? I have checked multiple U-Pick recycling yards multiple times, but because the yards remove the batteries when they get a vehicle, and the battery is under the washer bottle, the fasteners are pitched when the battery is removed. Just need to know what I am looking for. Edited August 14, 2020 by kcac
jiggity76
I don't know what they are called but they are a plastic push type retainer. I just found mine at my local GM dealer.
55trucker
It's not a bolt, it's a push pin/rivet Edited August 13, 2020 by 55trucker jiggity76
ron350
Don’t forget the sheet metal bolt in the back.
kcac
Thanks for the help everyone. I had removed and lost those two front fasteners many years ago. Shows how bad my memory is, I would have sworn I was missing two bolts. Went to the hardware store and got a couple of the push pins that jiggity76 an d55trucker mentioned. All set now. I did have the side bolt, maybe that is why I thought the other fasteners were bolts, too. Amanita
I wish they were bolts. Wouldn't be as much of a pain in the ass when you inevitably break one just trying to get to the battery.

I always use one hand to pull up the pin and my other hand to cover the pin so it hits my hand and doesn't fly off somewhere. That's how I lost them before I started doing this little trick. rich_e777
Upholstery clip removal tool is a must have for dealing with these things, I havent destroyed one with a flat head or needle nose pliers since picking a set up from HF a few years ago.
