rpm's on gauge cluster

Yes it should, since GM installs all the same wiring harnesses (mainly) but tacts on different components.

Talk with 92TurboLE, since he just swaped his base cluster: Gauge Cluster Upgrade.

i just finished installing mine on a 90 cs and it dont work, every thing else does but that, so i was just wondering if there is somethen else i have to do to it

Did you go from a digital dash cluster to a mechanical cluster, or vise versa?

Read over 92TurboLE's post and see if anything matches up in your situtation.

yeah, i know there is a difference between the mechanical and digital clusters wiring. All the wires are there, you just have to move them around. Get ahold of Gearhead43 i think he know the pinouts.

it was digital base cluster to digital gauge cluster it all works(lights up)but its just not reading any rpm's

Check your wiring diagram for the gauges cluster. There should be a slot for an orange ALDL serial data wire.

 

The base cluster doesn't need this, but the gauges cluster does. You can tap into this wire at the ALDL diagnostic connector which would be just in front of your right knee when you sit in the driver's seat.

 

Hook up this wire, tach will work.
