Variable Effort Steering Install

Quick Question, can a Series 1 or Series 2 1997 Cutlass Supreme that lacks a Variable Effort Power Steering set up easily have this option installed?  I'm looking at a dirt low mileage Series 1 CS and not having this option is a real turn off.

IIRC, it consists of only the EVO pump and a controller box somewhere. Years ago, a guy with a GP SE sedan installed it in his car. I cannot for the life of me remember his username, just his car. If you search around you might be able to find it.

I'm fairly certain there is a steering wheel position sensor and i know for the Obd1 cars, the function is actually controlled by the ABS module. That may have changed for the obd2 cars, but I don't know.
