IronEagle Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 (edited) I have a oil leak. When i pull the dipstick out of my 1992 chevy lumina 3.1L V6 while it is running oil bubbles out of the tube. There is a puddle of oil at under the car and dripping from the subframe in the front. I had replaced the front valve cover gasket yesterday one of the bolts threads are stripped. Could that be the problem? I have 10w-30 full synthetic in the car if it matters. Grandprix1 Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 Almost sounds like there is to much oil in it. Turn it off and let it sit for an hour and check the level. Quote
Imp558 Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 WTF? Pressure in the crankcase? Head problem seems likely, look at the spark plugs and see if one looks funny for starters. Quote
James Robert Posted October 6, 2018 Report Posted October 6, 2018 Positive crankcase ventilator not doing it's job? Quote
IronEagle Posted October 7, 2018 Author Report Posted October 7, 2018 Changed the hose to the PCV the gromet in front has oil underneath. The car has 250k on it and dont know much on th history. Quote
IronEagle Posted October 7, 2018 Author Report Posted October 7, 2018 I used normal heater hose to replace the hose going to the pcv Quote

Is the PCV valve still working OK? Where did you find heater hose that small? Edited October 7, 2018 by Schurkey Quote
IronEagle Posted October 7, 2018 Author Report Posted October 7, 2018 It is on the pcv valve. I shook the valve and it rattled. Quote
