Does the 440-T4(4T60) have a Fluid Temp. Sensor??

Does anyone happen to know if the 440-T4(aka 4T60, not 4T60-E) has a Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor? I see one listed on AllData, but it has absolutely no information on what the heck it actually does?

 

Since this tranmission is not electronically shifted, I'm trying to figure out why he would even have one??

I don't think so.... About the only connectors for the trans are the 4 pin one near the airbox, for the torque converter clutch, and the VSS plug near the right axle seal.
