Car runs like new; Mechanic fraudulent activities

The GM mechanic who said he would retime my car *at his own home, how cool* retimed it and fix some other stuff on the car...CAR RUNS LIKE NEW MOTOR! no vibrations, no buckling, PERFECT!

Here's te deal...he found several "CUT" vacuum hoses along with damage to the camshaft. The serpentine belt tensioner was also damaged which is causing the serpentine belt to wiggle off the pulley. The idler pulleys are new but the tensioner and actuator are not new and damaged as well...

the 1st mechanic said he replaced everything but the tensioner was not. Also the serpentine belt tensioner bolt was almost stripped clean, like they intentionally tried overtorquing it. The vacuum hoses were cut since there is not way the motor could have done such a uniform inscision. Lots of bolts frmo the timing cover were missing and the tensioner from the timing belt was missing a bolt (i dont htink that would make a difference though)

Regardless, the engine still runs good and serene. Looks like the original mechanics tried to pull a COME BACK FOR MORE SERVICE and they failed. The GM mechanic thinks we should pursue legal actions and he would testify in civil court. Personally, im just glad i got my car back. Rather than make the 1st mechanic pay a fine, i would just prefer to see his garage burn to the floor....then go in and retrieve his tools :-D

Roadtrip =)

take em to court, make em pay for the repairs, the downtime, and your new vacation spot so u can de-stress from your "baby" being down for so long.

Congrats on gettin the car back.

This is one thing all 3.4 owners should realize. YOU CANT TRUST THE AVERAGE MECHANIC WITH THE 3.4!!!

If anyone here plans to get work done on their 3.4, make sure that the mechanic has worked on them before, and uses the correct procedures.

Man if I were you I'd be sueing. That's fucking bs.
