xanth
Hey everyone, Been on here for a while, though this is my first post. Hopefully someone can help me out. My car's been making a noise for a while, dosen't seem to hurt anything, makes some kind of clicking noise when turning the steering wheel left or right, most of the time only while moving, but every once in a while at a stop. Replaced ball joints, idle arms and one CV joint is new... Has lowering springs on the front along with new struts. Anyone have an idea what to try replacing next? Thanks! 89oldscutlass
How far to the left or right do you have to turn it for it to click? The reason im asking is if your wheel has to be turned real sharp in either direction for it to do it and everything is new then your tires might be to wide and is hitting your inner fender well when its turned sharp. xanth
Not very far at all, it'll make a constant noise as you are turning the wheel either direction I have stock 16x8's with stock 245's for tires.

Mike shoot some wd40 into the strut towers around the rubber strut bushing....as they dry out and the metal plates rust, they tend to grind a bit. Mike Constant click click click would most likely be a CV joint. You said you did one new...what about the other. Have you had someone outside the car when you turn like this to see which side it is coming from? Maybe your other CV needs replacement? You made mention that the same sound happens whne you are sitting still. Did you just replace the springs with lowering springs? If you did without doing the bearing caps on the strut or the rubber bushings...you may have a binding with the spring. Look at the contact points of the springs to see if you have any obvious metel to metal shavings... 8)
