transmission interchange 1991 regal gs

My car- a 91 regal gs coupe transmission with 220k bit the dust last month.  I was about to give it away to the junk yard but decided to get a used 4t60 and put it in.

 

When I searched car-part.com for used transmissions for 1991 they only are giving me the 1991 year. Was 91 an odd year?

 

I did find a 1992 regal gs transmission with 115k for 120 dollars but for some reason it does not interchange on car-part.

I thought 91 and 92 were the same.

Somewhere along the line, the trans became electronically operated instead of vacuum operated. Hence the name change from 4T60 to 4T60E

Here's the interchange: I'm guessing it's a 3.8 being a GS though the GS was available with the 3.1. Consult a trans shop to make sure of these. These are from the Hollander Interchange which is what the junkyards use.

5 Hole 4 Pin torque converter connector.

Shift shaft is 7mm longer than previous years.

|F| thru |H| & |M| fit, if equipped with the bosses & holes needed to mount the upper bracket, by transferring valve body wiring, switches & electrical connector.

|N| & |P| fit by transferring valve body wiring, switches & electrical connector as needed.
