92turboLE Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Is there a difference in the ECU itself from a TGP versus a non turbo??? Would i be able to just slap a new chip into my existing ECU? Keep in mind that im using a mechanical wastegate so i dont need wiring for that. - Justin Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 No difference. Yes you can just put a turbo chip in it. Quote
skalor Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Yeah, they are the same and the only thing you'll lose like you mentioned is the wastegate circuit. Also, make sure you switch to a 2 bar MAP sensor. Both 1 bar and 2 bar sensors work off the same voltage so you could really screw things up if you don't change it. Quote

brian89gp Posted December 3, 2003 Report Posted December 3, 2003 Be sure to get the chip re-programed for the 3 bar otherwise the symptons will probably be quite entertaining. Quote
92turboLE Posted December 3, 2003 Author Report Posted December 3, 2003 well i plan on having the chip redone anyway - just wanted to make sure that it would like the ecu itself first - Justin Quote
