Vetteman61
I have a '97 Lumina (3100) As the weather has been in the single digits we have noticed cold air coming from the passenger side floorboard. I've found that there is a hole in the bottom of the blower motor housing and cold air comes out of this hole whether the blower motor is on or off. I've thought that this was a ventilation hole, however so much cold air is coming out that my wife has to cover up with a blanket and I don't think this is normal. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone else have this hole in the bottom of their blower motor housings? I'm open to the possibility that someone has broken the housings, but it feels smooth as though it were made that way. Thanks,
W30olds
Is it where the drain tube is suppose to be for the evaporator?
Vetteman61
No, it's definitely not where a drain should be. I have inspected the area more closely and it feels like there are some rough edges when I run my finger inside this hole. I'm beginning to suspect more that someone has broken a piece off and air is escaping from the hvac system before it has entered the heater core. ron350
Can you post a picture of where the hole is located?
