98gpgt
Who makes cars like this! The damned thing should just come out. I haven't yanked on it much, with my luck I'll damage the harness. I did cut the plastic retaining thing, could use a tie wrap when I'm done (but why? That harness is so taaught). I wasn't actually on my back, rather was working with a mirror on the floor. Should I just yank away or is there yet another retainer I can undo to create some slack in tne harness.
Imp558
It has to be routed wrong or something. If you have a little pick plugs are easier to unplug. The secondary lock isn't necessary.
digitaloutsider
It should just "come out". There are only 3 bolts that hold the blower motor in, IIRC. One is shoved up way against the carpet toward the firewall.
98gpgt
I got the 3 bolts out. A guy on youtube also said it was a pita. I'll look into unplugging the harness. And...there's drops coming down as I worked the thing. Another guy on youtube said the plastic band? underneath the wipers needs to be siliconed. There's also a bit of rust on the blower itself. Maybe I didn't need to buy a replacement, just clean up the old one?
digitaloutsider
There's a plastic shield you can find on newer Regals and Grand Prixs that covers up the giant HVAC intake hole under wiper cowl. Check later (maybe 2000+) GPs and Regals for it.
