godofthunder
Ok, just starting today, i noticed that my resivor was a tad low. So, I looked at the belt. Again, the 2 of the 5 teeth are wet. And as you can see in the picture below, so is part of the block. But, I dont know what is doing it this time! It doesnt seem to be leaking from the water pump, pump on inside (of what i can see) still looks new. This is REALLY pissing me off. Also, arround it looks almost all the gaskets, they look a tiny bit wet...is this normal? Heres a pic...You can see in the circled area a bit is wetter than the rest. jon

Slade901
Looks like a failing water pump. Better replace the water pump before it fails while you are in traffic.
godofthunder
I just replaced the water pump...thats the thing! you can slightly see it, if you look from the other dirrection. Last time though, that was all covered in coolant to. Its going in the shop, it looks like tuesday. I dont have any abnormal driving this week. Is there something that could now be causing it to break water pumps? Argh...this stuff is starting to really tick me off. But, possibly, I may be moving up next summer (starting to think about changing again). I dont want to, but I want something with less miles. With 126k, and nothing really broke yet, im sure many things are on their way out jon
DOHCRagtopguy
Maybe the rebuilt pump has a bad seal. I would buy new if it's only a matter of a couple of bucks at that point. Just my 2 cents.
godofthunder
this was a new one. Luckily, it is still under warranty. Even to my dads work from his shop (to get him a few extra bucks, i had him do it and get paid, rather than "just for his son"). So, ill get it for free, then take him to hooters for taking his time for me. So, if its the water pump, cool. Hell, i really dont care what it is. The car is like 7/8 years old, so, i guess its not really new, and kinda getting old. I love this car, just sometimes gets me angry. Its like this damn thing has a period, and decideds to leak something each month! The thing i am concerned about, and not sure of, is there something that could be causing this pump to go? The car runs perfectly smooth, and always stays at the lower bar on the temp guage. When it does get warm, is ONLY in traffic, which is normal. jon
godofthunder
any ideas? if it helps, this morning and overnight, nothing leaked. I have come to the conclusion that my car is a female. It leaks about once a month now. jon
