Flyby736 Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 Im sure you guys have heard this 1000 times but I cant find it in the forum so Ill just give it a shot. What are the differences between the 3800 Series I and Series II? L27 vs. L36 I want to know if any of the parts can be swapped from the Series II to a Series I....heads, intake manifold...Also does anybody know what it would take to put a Series I supercharger on a N/A Series I? Thanks in advance Quote

So bacially nothing will bolt up from one to another. S2 has a higher compression ratio also. 9:1 to 9.4:1. As far as the S1 s/c swap, I want to do it once I get money. the blocks heads and crank are the same, except for the pistons, connecting rods, intake and the s/c. you would need the s/c, intake, the p/s pump and alt brackets. you will need a new harmonic balancer since there are 2 belts on the s/c motor. some tensioners off the s/c motor, and maybe a Memcal chip from the s/c computer. BTW: It would be better to get the 94-95 s/c. better flow. Quote
Jasonz34 Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 A friend of mine got a quote of 350 USD for a SI s/c installed. His friend may have been hooking him up or ripping him off with that. Depending on your funds I would look into seeing about paying someone to do a L67 swap. Bigger aftermarket and more parts if something breaks. my 2 Quote
Flyby736 Posted December 2, 2003 Author Report Posted December 2, 2003 The funds arent there for an L67, that was my first choice. Was it at a dealer or just a local shop? Quote
