Nice thanks man! Looks like I've got someone who is not only giving me all the parts for $50 he's going to help install. I should have boost by the end of the summer if not sooner. This went way faster then expected. Thank the lord for W-body and Facebook

Yeah both helped own build along too lol

Yes lol. he had a small engine fire which I why he's junking it. Not an L67BBQ. Power steering lines blew up all over the headers he was able to put it out before it spread

One thing I'd recommend(but isn't actually necessary) is a set of headers. They'll make the setup more forgiving and theyre easy to install

Does the map have a specific spot to put it in or do you just put it somewhere? And how do I make it so I can use my wire harness with that plug?

Found a direct replacement of zzp for 70 bucks ill probably do that

Also as you get further along is two sellers from the fb pages I'd highly recommend is either rich Nero or Tim silney. They don't sell a lot of stuff but its always in good condition, decently priced, and they ship fast. Tim is actually a member here

I'd splice in a plug yourself. I've heard less than positive results from zzp plug adapters. Actually rich Nero had issues with the injector plug adapters

The wires should be the same right? Its just the sensor?

The injectors on these cars the EV1 with EV1 connections. So id need EV1 to EV6 not vice versa

I'll post the links to the plugs you need, you cut the old plug off and crimp the new on.

There's a special tool, you can get by with regular wire crimpers from a chain store though. When you're ready to do this let me know and I'll do a pictorial tutorial for you (BTW: Pictorial Tutorial would make an interesting band name).

Anecdotal evidence incoming, but I have zero issues with injector adapters, neither do tons of other people. Admittedly, I do not use ones from ZZP.

 

I'd adapt harnesses before cutting and crimping.. how can that possibly be more reliable?

Worked pretty damn good from the factory, why would anyone want a second plug along the way that looks ugly and adds another 4 places per wire for oxidation and poor contact to become an issue?

Cutting and crimping is how the nice people at GM assembled them, not elven magic and certainly not with the help of zzp.

Wow those are pretty cheap I thought they were going to be expensive. So essentially I'm building a new map sensor? And the injection connections just connect normally and will work with my harness?

I fail to understand how corrosion or oxidation would enter into a weatherpack connection with dielectric grease, but ok.

Challenge pissing aside. I see where Tom is coming from, less connections less chance for problems, less impedance. Not that I see it being a problem, but its sound logic. 

 

That said there are more then one way to do things and have them be right. I'm sure the adapters would work just as well.

Most people will do genuine GM parts, especially when they are more cost-effective. a lot of people don't realize how easy it is to change a plug though. it's actually really really easy and one can change all of the injector plugs on a 3800 in about 20 to 30 minutes. changing the plug yourself also gives you the option of crimping and then soldering it. when you really get down and look at it somebody crimped the pins on that adapter but we all know they didn't care as much about your project as you do.

That's a good idea. Soldering on the car will be a bitch though
