carkhz316 Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 It's getting warmer out and I'm getting ready to pull the Monte out of the garage. I want to install the SS wheels I got last year, but after a test fit last summer, I figured I'd need either new tires and/or wheel spacers. It looks to be the difference in wheel width and offset is about a inch (larger on the SS wheels). The tires are decent on the SS wheels, so I don't feel like buying tires at the moment if I don't have to. It looks like wheel spacers are the ticket; probably 1" bolt on spacers. I will probably do a spacer at all 4 corners to keep the offset equal all around. I understand that our cars have hub-centric wheel mounting; is that correct? Has anyone installed these wheels or done a similar swap before? I've tried searching, without much luck. Thanks for any help! Quote
GOT2B GM Posted March 29, 2017 Report Posted March 29, 2017 1" spacers up front, 1.25" out back 235-35-18 tires carkhz316 1 Quote
carkhz316 Posted March 29, 2017 Author Report Posted March 29, 2017 Perfect. Looks sharp and makes me miss my Lumina(s). Do the wider spacers in the rear put them even with the front? If so, that's what I'm going for. I want a stock stance/ offset. I was going to go with 1" all around, but if you recommend 1.25 in the rear, I'll do that. Quote
GOT2B GM Posted March 30, 2017 Report Posted March 30, 2017 The front track on these cars is wider than the rear from the factory, the extra .25" helps even that out carkhz316 1 Quote

I guess I'll follow suit and go with the 1.25 in the rear then. Thanks guys! Will post pics hopefully. GOT2B GM 1 Quote
