LS4 swap?

I have opportunity to buy LS4/Trans/kframe/harness/PCM/Axles for $800.  Has anyone put this in Gen1, or Gen2? this seems really good deal for 80K mile setup.

might fit into a gen2 somewhat  easily, but gen1 is going to be an undertaking(space/mounting/controls).

Actually ls4 shares somewhat similar mounting to an lq1. Issue you'll run into is the wiring and programming will be a total nightmare. Would be $ ahead l67 swapping

the Lucerne replaced the lesabre and park avenue in the same way that the G8 "replaced" both the grand prix and Bonneville. as such, it got a northstar/4T80, not a LS4.

The Lucerne is a FWD G body but designated as an "H" body, the same way the last gen Bonneville is a G body but has "H" as the platform VIN.

One of my dream mods for the 2nd Gen W Body Grand Prix. Shouldn't be to hard. It's been done before.

This would be a freaking nightmare to make run again.. The E-Series computers are a pain in the ass to do anything with once they're removed from the rest of the vehicle. You would almost be further ahead to Cobble together a wiring harness out of an old truck harness from an lm7, providing they have the same reluctor tooth count. Or just start with an lm7 to begin with.
