GPdriver1986
Today I brought my car into my school for my auto teacher and his classes to look at. My auto teacher is a former GM mechanic and engineer. We found 2 different leaks, he said the rear rocker cover is leaking most likley and my oil pan is leaking. I asked him if those oil leak stop products work or damage the motor. He said I should use it just to try to seal the leak coming from the oil pan. But I will probably change the rocker cover gasket soon. Any comments?
The Burning Rom
Don't use it to fix either of the leaks...especially since you live somewhere cold. The oil will turn to sludge. Just replace the pan gasket and the valve cover gasket. Fix it right the first time
Robby1870
yeah, agreed. The valve cover is fairly easy, the oilpan however is going to be a tough SOB
GPdriver1986
I'm gonna probably do what robby said and my auto teacher, change the valve cover gasket and then pour that stuff in. But I just might try using it before doing any of this. Would it be a good idea to change the oil after the stop leak has kicked in?
