Brian P Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Id appreciate any tips on removing the black dashboard bezel in order to get to the radio Quote
jpv123 Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 It just snaps off. It's held in with clips. get your fingers and grab an edge and pull firmly but gently. Quote
Brian P Posted November 28, 2003 Author Report Posted November 28, 2003 Arent there 2 screws by the steering column? If not, cool then Quote
Rob95CS Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 No screws. It's held completely in place by plastic clips. Just pull them loose. It takes a bit if it's the first time your dash has been apart. Quote
runt Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Yeah, good luck getting it to come under the top of the dash itself with the damn steering wheel in the way. But no screws! Quote
Rob95CS Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Tilt the steering wheel all the way down, engage your parking brake and move the gear shift all the way down to first (if it's column shift). Then it's not TOO hard to get out from over the steering wheel. Quote
Dannymik Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 that steering wheel is a bitch for that dash piece. When I put mine back on it wont snap in 100% by the bottom near the center console...pisses me off! :x Quote
cutlassdude96 Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 put the steering wheel in its lowest position and pull out the tilt lever Quote
godofthunder Posted November 29, 2003 Report Posted November 29, 2003 Wow....where do you pull? anywhere in particular? This may be the easiest radio install when i ever get to it! so....are there NO screws, until you take the actual radio out? And you only have to take out that bezel? jon Quote

And you only have to take out that bezel? jon Break it loose from the bottom right corner first. I think that's the easiest spot to put a little leverage. My stock radio was held in by 2 or 3 small bolts (8mm? 10mm?) I replaced them with screws. Quote
jeremy Posted December 1, 2003 Report Posted December 1, 2003 snaps right off, pulls over the steering wheel w/o issues....just did it this week Quote
Brian P Posted December 1, 2003 Author Report Posted December 1, 2003 Yeah I went and did it 2 days ago, 10 minute job for the whole thing. Just dont forget about getting that rubber tab into position in the middle of the gage cluster Quote
