So I have decided to upgrade and fix my saggy ass. Talked to flex a form about a rear monoleaf. Going to replace the spring with a lower ride height than stock. Don't want to lower the car, just have it sit level. I have ordered a addco 7/8" rear swaybar also. So hopefully with these repairs and newer struts my ass will be all tight and not saggy.

I want to start charity to provide belts to inner city youth. It breaks my heart to see them walking around with their pants around their knees because their family can't afford to buy new ones that fit properly. Sounds like your on a good path with your rear suspension, did you look at the coilover conversion? You can set the ride height anywhere you want.

It is a shame all those saggy asses out there and all they need is a little love! Coilovers sound nice, but I want to keep the car close to original.

What's your mono leaf gonna cost you?

I'm actually on hold currently for the spring as they are 2+ weeks behind on production. The price was $300. Bit pricey but if I'm going to spend the time and money to repair the rear I don't want to use a junkyard spring with questionable info on the part. Rather I take the time to do it right and have new parts. Then I will have a better piece of mind.

Wasn't trying to sound like a douch toward you. Im kinda a fix it correctly and use the best part to do the job kinda guy. Sorry if I came off like a assclown.

I did not think it was douchey either. Doing it right the first time is usually preferred over doing it several times to get it right. When. Using recycled parts you never know how much life is still left in it. Somethings just need to be replaced with new.

You actually found Addco rear sway bar? I'd been looking for one for a while, last I knew they were not making them.    So you ordered matching front springs to lower 7/8" so that front and rear match? Am I missing something here?

Found the swaybar on Ebay. Jegs still have a few of them available. Search for them on ebay addco part # 474. Amazon has them as well. Not sure what your asking me on the spring question. The 7/8" is the swaybar size.

Finally got a price quote on the spring from flex a form. $320 plus shipping. Man now I'm second thinking the repair. Not sure if I want to sink much more cash into this car. It's gonna be expensive to do and not sure if the cars worth it, or not. Decisions.......

Hate to say it because I know you're a purist but for less you can convert over to the coil springs assuming you're planning on buying struts anyway.

How does the ride on coil over compare to stock? I've always been nervous of riding like lumber wagon

The sway bar looks 2nd gen?

According to the Addco website this is the part number for the swaybar. Hopefully it's correct! If not then they offer a refund if you send it back. I don't know if the picture is the actual product.I found another listing on Amazon and it says it fits....

So I just called Addco. They had some of the sway bars in stock. Cancelled the eBay order. Have one being shipped from the manufacturer. 3-5 business days the sales man said. Kaboom. All good.

Decided not to go with the flex a form spring after doing some research on their products. Also the month + waiting time before they can even begin. I emailed Tony at Birchmount to see what has to offer.

 

I can't decide if I'm going to fix the car, or not. I go back and forth about it. It rides ok if I'm the only person in the car. Still though it sags and doesn't feel solid. Also because of my subs and box when I hit a dip in the road sometimes the tires will rub in the fender wells. Even when we fill the trunk with groceries it will sag and rub the tires. Not to mention when people ride in the back it's awful.

 

I enjoy the stock FE3 ride height and I do like a firmer ride. I do however have the addco bar on the way. Do plan on that being done. If memory serves me didn't most of the w-body cars sit lower in the back from the factory? I'd just like the car to sit level really. So waiting to see what Tony says before I go further.

Some have mentioned that you cannot use a larger swaybar on the back of a 1st gen without going to coil overs, Ive got a 95 or 96 Z34 bar I`m hoping to install on my coupe sometime soon. If I knew for sure it didn't work it`d save me the time off trying to get it to when I should be getting my coilover parts squared away.

1st gen W's sag because of the way the rear suspension was designed. The sagging would not be much of a problem if the shocks were in a spring setup. Sadly that is not the case. Long story short, the best way to get the car sitting level is to convert to coil overs.

Talked to Tony. He has the factory springs in stock. Which is awesome. His price is $240 for the spring plus shipping to Georgia. Guess I need to decide if I want to do this project on the car and if it's worth it. As far as the rear sway bar Rich the Addco guy told me it would work on the 95 cars. Of course it was a salesman, so I'm in the same boat as you on if the thing will fit! Goodtimes😂

That idea struck me as well while looking at my spring choice - maybe even stacking a partial spring above a full one.

Or one could grind down the second spring to reduce the thickness/stiffness. 

Two full springs might ride very hard.
