rvierra Posted November 27, 2003 Report Share Posted November 27, 2003 i have a 98 monte Z34, i am having tranny problems and if i need a new one, im wondering if its possible to swap in a manual tranny? is it really difficult? is it worth it? is it really costly? how would i do it, what parts would i need what tranny, etc... i dont know if i should do it our not, the car only has 38K miles on it. i also work in parts dept at a chevrolet dealership, so i dont know. Many of us don't specialize in Gen 1.5 or Gen II tranny swaps since the PCM is difficult to overcome. Along with the clutch pedal, the firewire installation, bolting everything together and the like... However, there has been some good news from the owners @ L67swap.com since they're wanting the same.
