bluegp
How in God's name do i remove the bolt behind the last coil and under the starter?????????!?!??! Jesus christ this bolt is really sending my day to hell! I'm assuming you mean the bolt that holds the module/coils bracket to the block. That one is a real PITA! You have to do it by feel. It's impossible to see it. It's even harder to put it back in. It has to be at the right angle for the threads to start. It's pure luck if you get it right. The first time I tried to put mine back in, the bolt fell & disappeared. I spent 45 minutes searching, swearing, & throwing stuff. After I got a flashlight, I found it sitting between the starter & block.
GrandPrix34
i lost 3 socket pieces: a 13mm, a 1/2, and a mini 1/2 complete with extension.... i managed to grab that piece of shit bolt when it hit the floor I managed to get that bolt using my sisters mirror -after losing the 3 piece mentioned above, i had to use a deep 13mm socket which would not fit between the coil and the starter...i removed the coil but still wouldnt fit...so wat i did was loosen up the starter bolts on the bottom. Stupid turkey day, so they closed SuckoZone so i could have the icm checked IS there any way to check the ICM using the multimeter i have here? Or is it a special procedure? joey b
special machine. And I would have gone the route to remove the coils. When you do that the ICM will come off too. 5.5mm bolts or 5/32 I believe.

GrandPrix34
im planning that right now...prob is the inductive 40,000volt risk wit the car running and the coils so out there in the open.. other htan that, i don see why not? Putting the ICM and coils back in should be cake now that i know the other 3 bolts holding the metal frame or worthless garabage
Bolt_Crank
I should move my coils.... on _really_ hard high speed turns and bigger bumps, my coils touch the STB where's a good place to put 'em?
5speedz34
The newer 3.4's (96+) have them over by the power steering pump, I would say somewere by the ECM. I've always thought about getting a new coolant resevoir from the newer W-bodies and putting it over there.
joey b
the special machine is to test the ICM. And I relocated my coil packs to where the airbox used to be. Easy as cake to get to and not it the way of anything.
