What's the proper method for checking the motor mounts? What am I looking for in a bad mount?

the front mount should be checked for leak of hydrolic oil and the dog bone and the front can be checked in drive while reving the motor

they have 3 plus the dogbone

One is at the bottom front of the engine cradle, you can see it under the car...the tranny mount, i have no clue, and the other engine mount you can check thru the passanger wheel well wit the tire off i belive...

$118 for anchor brand mounts (not including the dogbone)

the trans mount is on the black plate that bolts on the passenger sid eof the car to the cradle, its kinda hard to get to but ussually they don't go bad.... they are pretty solid and don't get much movment

I have a feeling this is the one that may be bad. Could it be bad and NOT leak hydraulic oil?

The only one that is hydrualic is the front one for the motor the rest are solid. But I dont think so.

the hydrolic mount may have fluid on it or not, if its been leaking it may all be gone or may be present, the other yuou hafta look for tears.... if the front mount is gone the motor will surge up....that is when you in drive with you foot on the brakeand hit the gas
