Prattsta24 Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 My fiance has a 1985 Grand Prix, He is trying to remove the steering wheel. He has tried a steering wheel puller and other techniques and it seems as if nothing is working. Any tips or Suggestions? Quote
Imp558 Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Might be a better question for a G-body forum too. Quote
Prattsta24 Posted June 1, 2016 Author Report Posted June 1, 2016 He used the puller and followed the steps and the steering wheel isn't coming off hasn't even loosed. Quote
Imp558 Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 The nut is off? We want the puller very straight and a little penetrating oil would help. Quote
Prattsta24 Posted June 1, 2016 Author Report Posted June 1, 2016 Yes the nut was off and the puller was oiled. He was able to the the steering wheel of his other grand prix with in seconds but has been at this for the past couple hours Quote
Imp558 Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 penetrating oil is not just oil put a little bit on and it will work its way between the two parts and help break them free Quote
Prattsta24 Posted June 1, 2016 Author Report Posted June 1, 2016 said he has already done that as well Quote
Imp558 Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 yeah I don't know there shouldn't be any trick to ityou may find more specific information on a G-Body forum that isn't actually a w body car in 1985 Quote
