Padgett Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 In R&Ring the thermostat I had a look inside the throttle body intake hose and see what looks like a super turbine air vortex power injector. Think I last saw one around the first fuel crisis. Is this something the factory did or the PO found in a catalog ? Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 eBay special. Send it to me: Garbage can 100 garage can Garbage Throw it away Quote
Psych0matt Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 But it's got louvers !!! True. I've actually always wondered if those things actually do anything measurable Quote
94 olds vert Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) I'd toss it out just to be on the safe side. Edited April 18, 2016 by 94 olds vert Quote
Padgett Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 Turns out I have a gen-u-ine $69.00 Tornado with CARB approval no less. Is now sitting on the bench. Seems I remember them being tested during the fuel crisis and being found to do no harm. Only thing that actually saved gas was a device called the PassMaster that went in the AC relay and connected to a vacuum source. If the MAP went below 5" as when passing it would turn the AC off. mfewtrail Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 Long time since I've seen one of those. I wouldn't toss it, but would chop it up to repurpose for some other use. Quote
Padgett Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 No chopping, will go on the wall with other oddball stuff that dates back to the 30's. Psych0matt 1 Quote
Imp558 Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 Are there magnets on the fuel lines too? Quote
Padgett Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 Haven't found any but there is this giant decal in the backlight I'd like to remove since cannot see through it but seems to be under the tinting. Quote
