Mstg007 Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 Dumb question here. If a car has slow acceleration. And it is running about 1 QT low. Does that make a difference in acceleration? I found out that the car runs 1 QT low because if it's filled to normal capacity the engine leaks a lot of oil while parked. Currently it does leak alittle( a few drops). Thanks for any advice. Quote
Schurkey Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 One quart of oil low on the dipstick means nothing in terms of acceleration. Are you sure the dipstick is correct? If having a full oil pan increases oil leakage when the engine is shut off, there's something WRONG with the engine--cracked oil pan, most likely. Time to invest in some repairs.
