284 trans oil check/fill

Have the GTP up in the air and all I find is a drain plug. How do you check the tranny oil & fill if needs. YWTK!

I think you flip it up to unlock it and pull it out. Looks the same as on my truck's 700r4, you have to flip the lock up and then pull it out.

Thank you, was able to reach in through the wheel well and check it,  was OK but even with the lock down it felt a little loose in the trans, is this common ?

The O-rings wear out and they can get a little sloppy.

OK then I need some new O rings. No big. Lowes has lots.

If I would have know it was just the orings. I cut a washer to slip in between the lever and the rest of the dipstick so when you flip it back down, it pulls tighter and expands the oring section more. Works for me.

Just took a look and seems to be a rubber body and not O-rings. I'll try the washer trick, lever did seem loose.
