oldmangrimes Posted March 8, 2016 Report Posted March 8, 2016 I googled around and found a couple old newspaper articles about the Cutlass Convertible. Sorry if these have been posted before. 1992 Chicago Tribune http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1992-09-28/business/9203280530_1_34-liter-engine-convertible-new-engine 1995 Orlando Sentinel (this article says the Cutlass Supreme will be replaced by the Oldsmobile Antares, which later became the Intrigue) http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1995-03-02/topic/9502280561_1_cutlass-supreme-convertible-test-car-achieva Oldsmobile Antares wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oldsmobile_Antares rich_e777 and 94 olds vert 2 Quote

rich_e777 Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Article sold me on it Wait a minute, what changed on the suspension between 94 and 95? Was that when the rear accordians were dropped in favor of a swaybar? Quote
94 olds vert Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 As far as I know 94 and 95 suspensions are the same Quote

rich_e777 Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Not according to the article, said the suspension wasn't just re designed, it was re engineered. Quote

sean1991olds Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 I had seen the Orlando one before but not the Chicago one, nice find! You made me think that there might well be more out there via google, like this one: (1992 Redesign) https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=YXEOAAAAIBAJ&sjid=3YEDAAAAIBAJ&pg=7191%2C2370624 Quote
Crazy K Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 Kind of interesting. suspension changes? not much, mid 95 cars got an increase in front rotor size. I have also observed that rear swaybars seem to be standard in cutlasses in 95, but not in 94... often if the car has a swaybar it does not get the aux springs, but sometimes they could get both, though I believe no W car ever got neither. No other change in suspension occurred in gen 1 cars Quote
Turbocharged400sbc Posted March 13, 2016 Report Posted March 13, 2016 i thought maybe they got rid of the equal length rear lateral bars and went to the short/long arm rear cradle of the 2nd gen rear suspension....giving em the 1.5's Quote
Nas Escobar Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 i thought maybe they got rid of the equal length rear lateral bars and went to the short/long arm rear cradle of the 2nd gen rear suspension....giving em the 1.5's 1.5 (aka the 95 Lumina and Monte Carlo) got rid of the mono leaf and made it a conventional rear suspension. The fixed lateral links are the same as is the procedure to align the car. There's probably more to the story but thats the best way to sum it up. Quote
