skalor
I was talking on our mIRC channel the other day, and the topic came up about getrag 284 clutches. I was going to buy a SPEC stage I for $489, which seems like a really good deal. Anyways, it came up that the cheap clutches available were actually pretty decent. So, I looked it up at Autozone, and they have a Cumberland(part# NU31179) available for $185. I was wondering if anyone has tried this clutch or has had any experience with this clutch as it could save me a lot of $$$ **remember that this 284 is going to be in a TGP 8)
93GTP
This is the one I plan on getting for my 284. http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDetails.asp?SourceArea=SHOP&SourcePage=SEARCHRESULTS&MfrCode=PHT&MfrPartNumber=MU700451&PartType=244&PTSet=C I've heard that the Perfection Hytest is a good clutch for the 284. I believe Pocket-Rocket has one and he said it's good? Anyways they're probably all the same, the cumberland may very well be the same clutch with a different name on the box. skalor
I think I'm going to go with the Perfection Hytest that you suggest 93GTP. I also read a thread about 284 clutches on 60v6 forums that mentions that clutch as well. It seems like a good alternative to the SPEC. 8) It's interesting to read that all 284 clutches are made from the same manufacturer.
