1994 - Cutlass Supreme - Door Lock Actuators

Gotta hopefully a quick easy question. I just order my door lock actuators for my car the other day! Thank you Tax Refund! Anyway, I am wondering what is the best / easiest way to get the door panels off on a 94 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. Also, Do I need to use a rivot gun to install these? and do I need to have the battery unplugged?

Its weird, when I ordered the actuators I had to get one for the left and one for the right. They both look totally different, I would have thought they would have looked the same. Got to love it!

Thanks again for all your advice.

New question for you guys. I was able to replace both left and right door lock actuators. Bummers is it did not fix the problem. The drivers side will unlock and not lock. While the left will not do either. I tried it from the key phob, drivers side control panel and when you start the car and put it in drive I can hear the clicking sound but it seems mechanically nothing. Am I missing something. It use to work fine a few years ago.

Sounds like it is in the linkage, can you pull the rods manually with the door panels off and make it lock/unlock?

Yes I can pull the linkage manually and it works. Is there's fuse or something I'm missing?

I have read your post. Thank you for sharing. I did find a photo online of the Door Lock Module. So basically I need to "Kink"
the rod to make it tighter?

Curious here, why from the control panel on both sides of the door. When I press the unlock bottom on both I hear a loud click. Now, when I push down I hear nothing on both sides. Is that mechanical or more fuse related? Like I said I did replace both sides with new actuators. Thought that was the problem but maybe it was not.

Also mechanically on the photo above. How easy is the lock linkages suppose to move? I wonder if it might be to tough for it to push it in lock mode.

Thanks for all your help!
