Intake Manifold operation

ok, this is what i plan on doing over thanksgiving

once again! the intake manifold has a leak so

im pulling the intake manifold and changing gaskets. this has been done once by a machanic but i plan on doing it myself this time.

also do a tb bypass and clean the egr.

would changing the thermistate be easy while the manifold is off?

anyone know the proper procedures of pulling the manifold?

i searched for the manifold and all i found was im going to do it and ohh i did that with no information specificly. also i found some ways to change the thermistate i think.

any info would be appreciated.

Don't have torque specs in house must be in car. But when you remove/tighten the bolts try to do it in a criss-cross pattern so you evenly distribute pressure on the manifold. Clean the shit out of it while it's out to, fill it and let it soak so you get all the crap out of upper/lower plenum. Don't eat yellow snow??? :? :? :? Never had one so not sure of anything specific, good luck.

DONT SOAK THE PLENUM IN WATER.

Baddflash is a freaking dumbass. you want water in your cylinerds, thats the #1 way to do it. my plugs were $30, and i dont wanna buy more. and i like my pistons, i really do. you can dry it forever, and youll still be fucked. get an air compressor or borrow one, and give it some forced induction  . blow that thing out, but do not use water. use gas all you want, but no, no, no, NOOOOO water.

good.

As for you Baddflash, go buy a 4 cylinder S10 and call it a Syclone.

and found this pic while doing a google search to find out if its cyclone or Syclone(the latter is correct)

Hey, Aaron, whats so bad about water? When I took my intakes off, I took them to the car wash and used the pressure washer to get the dirt off and ya know what, they are on the car and I've put over 2000 miles on it since I put it back together and it STILL runs. Damn, I figured it would have blown up already  Oh, we rebuilt my dads motor and took his intake, head and oil pan, valve cover to the car wash too. Its got about 2000 miles on it since then and it hasnt blown up yet. Maybe we just got lucky?

it is criss cross, (gonna make ya jump, jump), i had to replace intake manifold gaskets last year, said to torque those bolts only to 11ftlbs, the gasket is designed to work under low torque load and also cause the manifold is aluminum

i dont wanna go to deep into it. but do you think i could get away with just doing the upper manifold gasket..

supposivly all of the gasketes have been changed about 50k miles ago

I have the specs u need - up at my shop, which I wont be at till sun due to the holiday....but in case u find them...and you have the 94- up 3100 - when doing the tightening, add this: for every bolt in sequence, as you torque it, torque the NEXT bolt in the sequence AT THE SAME TIME, but only to about 1/2 the torque - this helps you seat on the plastic intake gasket bosses without cracking them.
