sdoDrew
I have a 1991 cutlass supreme 3.1 and an 89 Cavalier 2.8. If I took the fuel pump, fuel gauge (sending unit), rear break pads, brake line hoses, and other parts off the cavalier, and put them into my cutty, would they work/fit? or are there too many differences betwee nthe cars? Thanks a lot.
Justin
umm, I would guess no on all of those parts. The only possibility would be the fuel pump, but they're only like $50 new. About the only parts that will for sure exchange are the parts directly attached to the engine, ie sensors, possibly manifolds, etc... Redfox340
The paet that would be close (but would want to check part numbers before installing) would be the fuel pump. That, and *maybe* the brake lines; as long as they were long enough and will wrench together. Everything else, I would believe wouldn't work out for you. But, if you have the parts in front you, try it and see where you end up. However, you're combining pretty specifc parts from two seperate frames... keep that in mind. - Erik
Baddflash
There's too many differences between the W and J-bodys so I'd say no too everything, with the exception of most engine parts. But like was said if you hav'em infront of you why not try. GM reuses a lot of parts so anything is possible. Hell I have a wiper motor off a 75' GMC 1/2 ton on my 65' Belair, I'm also using a 90' Jimmy master cylinder and proportioning valve to get rid of that unsafe single line system. They all were direct bolt-ons so I modified nothing on the Belair that can't be put back to original.
