TGPilot Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Aaron with a turbo car!!! Motor #2 coming soon! Good thing your Daddy has deep pockets!!! Quote
slick Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 Aaron, i don't think you need a turbo. Why don't you just drop about $3000 into the engine, you should be set. Quote
sonyman87 Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 come on guys!!! give the boy a chance IMO that turbo would be to small. it was built for a 2.0 and your running a 3.4 so there would be a cfm air requirement problem. i would like to see what a 3.4 turbo 5speed would produce!! ofcourse within reason. at that motor age dont do more then 8psi!!! keep well within safe operation to ensure endurence and long life of the motor. 92turboLE Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 small turbo + big engine = turbo overspool = turbo seizing and/or coming apart. Not good either way. Get something that is more fitting to the car. - Justin Quote
Aaron Posted November 23, 2003 Author Report Posted November 23, 2003 what if i got a wastegate? isnt that supposed to prevent overspool??? thanks for the help, i doubt ill take hiim up on it. \ said: ofcourse within reason. at that motor age dont do more then 8psi!!! keep well within safe operation to ensure endurence and long life of the motor. that motor age huh??? wow, i thought 1200 miles was nothin. and also, the guy who built the motor said hed still warrenty it with boost, as long as i didnt exceed 14psi. and my dad doesnt have deep pockets--i am paying every bit of the $3000 rebuild and i already paid for the car itself. well half, that was the deal. boostnawd Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 If it came out of a 5 spd, what you have yourself is a 14b. If it came out of an automatic, it's a 13g and propably too small. Here's a link to some common turbo charger flow maps. http://www.taboospeedshop.com/turbomaps.htm The 14b is bigger than a t25 (stock tgp turbo) and smaller than a t28/16g. Depending on your goals, it may be enough turbo for you. Quote

Pick up a frickin dictionary. suck-it-bitch. if you havent figured out yet i dont care to much for proper spelling when i post. Aaron what i mean is dont over boost your motor and run the life out of it in a few short years. Make that thing last 10 or 20years, not just 2 or 3. Quote
joey b Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 I was talking to Aaron. He thinks you are saying that his engine can't handle a Turbo. You are saying that a turbo will cause the engine to not last as long. Quote
93GTP Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Sure his engine can handle a turbo, you just cant be too aggressive with the boost. I'm sure he'd be fine with 6-7 or possibly 8 psi, intercooled of course. Aaron are you sure you can handle a turbo setup? I hope you are, because even if you know what you're doing there's going to be a substantial amount of downtime with your car. Quote

Aaron, if you really want to put something in action, you've got to get a hold of TimG and RedZMonte. If you provide the hardware, I'm willing to bet those two will get it together for a couple cases of FoCo brew. - Erik Quote
90lum31v6euro Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 those motor bays on a z34 are very tight man, u will have to do a lot of relocating just to fit the pipes for ur turbo and intercooler.. ud have to rip everything apart to put it all in ne way, so save urself the trouble, and have ur cylinders borred out, port and polish, and other engine overhaul processes Quote
