teen_turbo17
OK, I am on this site for a friend but I pretty much know everything about his car. His tranny is F... messed up. He has to shift it him self or it will slips for about a second and then shift. He wants something better than what he has now, the getrag or a BUILT up auto. teen_turbo17
 500 hp hollding capacity!! How do they know that it take 500 they have a GM FWD with 500? $3500 (with options) is a bit more than I (my friend) is looking for but 500 hp is alot more than we were looking for. Is there a better than stock rebuild kit? We will need to think of all our options, but Im think that he will buy that since he has a good job and already a grand saved up. I am trying to persuade my friend into keeping his Cutlass Supreme, an not get a new Cavi.

teen_turbo17
he is the fastest pushrod FWD GM we have found. We have all but the newest '04 3.4's. His car is running low compression (bad exhaust valves{I think}), and he trans is screwed up to hell. JW, does anyone have a 3.1 and have beatin cars that you shouldnt? I mean he has beaten cars that are over 2 seconds to 30mph faster then him. Beat a '95 3.4 DOHC Lumina, can stay right behind a NEW Stang GT from a start, tear the crap out of a Integra GSR, stay right with a new Prelude with minor mods and a real good condition '00 Cadillac STS. I know those cars arent fast, but they should be alot faster then his car. I can most likely beat him in my '86 Ford (I hate Ford ) TurboCoupe. On a road that we floor it by my house he had a more road than I, but I was 5 mph faster... Anyway that is beside the point. I will be waiting for a response

teen_turbo17
The fastest pushrod we have found on the STREET. He wont take it to Kennadale until he gets a new tranny, but he is gonna get it dynoed soon. just to see

The majority of them aren't anywhere near as fast as the TC's and XR-7 turbo's though.
SleeperRed90TGp
Hay GrandPrix34, Was that 4.82 minutes or seconds. I couldn't help it. Jud
scorpion_x9
Heck! If I had $3800 to burn on a transmssion(cuz I really need one!) I'd definitely buy that one heavy duty 4T60E. The 4T60E is junk, in my opinion. A few people I know had to replace their 4T60E, including me! It's a crap version of the 4T65E, I heard someone say that "Zoomer" runs pretty much a stock 4T65E or HD version with a aftermarket diff, but that person could be wrong. I've been to his ZZ Performance shop a couple of times and talk to zoomer, but I didn't inquire on his transmission. I actually seen that guy get pulled over by the police before... Not like it matters.

Fox Body Fords are so great my friend's 86 Cougar makes 120 horsepower! that is very sad considering the market the car was designed for. i know similar year Monte Carlos didn't make much more, but i would bet my balls on a 305 Monte over a 302 Thundershit, and a 87 Grand National over a TurboCrap is is so sad a smaller displacement 3.1 chevy engine runs stronger than a 3.8 ford.....so sad...... teen_turbo17
Fox Body Fords are so great my friend's 86 Cougar makes 120 horsepower! I have read that the 5.0s in those things can hardly move the car, lol. the 5.0 isn't the "high model" engine. The four cyl is i would bet my balls on a 305 Monte over a 302 Thundershit, and a 87 Grand National over a TurboCrap no $h!t man, the GN is faster. the "TurboCrap" isnt even close to the power of the GN. is is so sad a smaller displacement 3.1 chevy engine runs stronger than a 3.8 ford.....so sad...... That is ford for you buddy, but I wouldnt say that about the Supercoupes. The have 220 hp and 300 ft/lbs I believe
dbtk2
I heard someone say that "Zoomer" runs pretty much a stock 4T65E or HD version with a aftermarket diff, but that person could be wrong. Zooomer runs an Intense 4T65E-HD tranny in his car. The stock 4T65E-HD is a pretty beefy tranny, and would actually do very good as a replacement for a 3.1 liter tranny, but it can't stand up to 400whp, which is what Zooomer is making. On the other hand, we run a stock 4T65E-HD tranny in our GTP with only an Intense Limited Slip differential and a thrasher shift kit, and haven't had any problems as of yet, but that is because of a lot of luck, and because we don't wind it up to over 7k like Zooomer does, we only go up to 6200rpms which is MUCH easier on the tranny than 7000+ rpms. Although, I have a feeling the tranny in the GTP isn't going to make it much longer. But if I were to have to recommend a tranny for a 3.1 replacement, the 4T65E-HD would be the one, it is a very strong reliable tranny IMO. Rob95CS
Stupid question here... the 4T65E-HD is a direct replacement for the 4T60E?

joey b
I was under the assumption that the wiring for the 4T65 had different wiring than the 4T60. So I would assume that the HD versions wouldn't match up either.
