cougarcat454
What size are the two lower bolts on the rear shocks on a 96 Grand Prix? Getting ready to change them out. Going to pick up the shocks and want to make sure I have a socket/wrench to get the bolts out. Changed a set of these before and I don't remember if I had to borrow a wrench or if I had one. Thanks in advance.
Nas Escobar
18mm IIRC. If not 18mm then it's 15 or 16. But it shouldn't be bigger than 23 (lateral link bolt)
cougarcat454
Two different sizes, nut must be 23 or 22 a 24 mm just a little too big. I don't have a 22 or 23 to try. The bolt head side must be a 20 mm, 19 won't go on it. I have a 18 and a 19 no 20 thru 23. probably what I need, is one of those. Got it off with a 24 mm no need to hold the other side has splines on the bolt to hold it so the whole thing does not turn. ron350
On my 96 Regal a 13/16 deep well socket fits those nuts. Many of the fasteners on my 96 are not metric.
