GTPer
So I've done some mods for performance but now I really want an aftermarket mechanical boost gauge. I know boost is pretty much stock but I just like the look of a boost gauge. Anyone here ever installed a boost gauge on a gtp or another l67 car? Is installation easy? I kind of have an idea as far as the vacuum line connections but I'm not to sure on the wiring. And any brands to stay away from?
Imp558
I put one on mine, went with the glowshift ten color series. My gauge came with A sensor because it's actually electric, mounted it on the firewall and I used a T fitting plastic barb thing to tap into the vacuum line for the map sensor. Of course my map sensor is on the firewall too.

I want to put it on the left side of my steering wheel on the dash. But I'm not sure how that's done exactly. It says it comes with a mounting bracket but I'm not sure how that whole thing fits together
GTPer
So from what I have found the boost line to cut into is the line close to the map sensor. Then run the vacuum line through the passenger side footwell where there is suppose to be a rubber grommet already so I won't need one. Okay but for the wiring I assume it will have to be extended to reach the passenger fuse box. I'm pretty new to electrical stuff so how exactly would I extend the wiring? And basically the red and yellow wires will run through the same path as the vacuum line
Marshal
there are a few companies that build gauge pods. you can get a 2 gauge pod that goes on your dash, or a 3 gauge pod that replaces your pillar. Imp558
Glowshift gauges come with a little single pod, at least the 10 color ones do. There is a metal bracket that bolts to the bottom of it, I didn't want the bracket to show and they were a little too high to get tight by the windshield. My solution was to cut little rectangular holes in the plastic peice that spans the dash and put the brackets under it and bent them up to secure the gauges. Initially I got the 3 gauge pod from Glowshift, but then I bumped into a Bonneville HUD at the WY and elected to put the gauges off to the side on the dash. They sit very close to my inspection stickers.
pwmin
http://www.grandprix.net/upgrades/boostgauge.html http://www.grandprix.net/upgrades/gauge_lighting.html  I just put one in my 06. The wiring was different for mine. I mounted mine in one of the vents, but you can't do that in a 2nd gen. Yes, install it in line with the MAP sensor. You can either adapt to rubber hose or use the line that should come with your gauge. I used an AutoMeter z-series.

I was looking at the mechanical 7 color gauge and this pod http://www.glowshiftdirect.com/Universal-Single-Gauge-Metal-Dash-Pod.aspx I assume the pod just screws in straight into the dash next to the steering wheel on the left. And it looks like the pod already has a ground in it.
GTPer
Kind of off topic but I was messing around under my dash trying to remove the trim to remove the instrument cluster because my temp gauge doesn't light up and the speedometer is kind of dim on the right side so I was going to check it. I didn't remove it but now my radio doesn't light up it works but it doesn't show the clock or the staiotin or anything. I seen a black and green connection loose under the dash but I didn't see anywhere it connects to. The fuse is good so I'm not sure.
GTPer
Ok I really need help. I removed the trim piece under the steering column trying to remove my instrument cluster. I couldn't figure out how to remove all the rest of the trim so I put the piece back and now I've got a bunch of problems. My ABS light is on, steering feels harder like if there is something wrong with the power steering, radio and Information center don't work, and my key lock switch doesn't work either. I didn't remove any wiring down there so I don't know. Can anyone help?
GTPer
So I fixed my problem. It turns out there is one fuse under the hood for exactly those things that weren't working in my car. Replaced that one 10a fuse, ABS light went away, radio and DIC came back on, and my remote lock works. I would've never guessed there was one fuse for all those things. GTPer
Okay so I want to get an opinion from you guys. My car is a 97 an it has 187000 miles on the engine. Transmission is rebuilt I was told. I want to do a 3inch downpipe, colder plugs, 3.5 pulley and a tune. Is it worth trying to drop pulley sizes on that many miles? I don't know if the engine would hold up. I don't know whether to mod the car further hoping it holds or just save up for a different car. I've always wanted to get a 4th gen f body (Camaro z28 or trans am/formula). What do you guys think?
