Cam & water pump pulley question

Recommended Posts

I'm rebuilding a "T" block and using a crane H260 cam. I've read that when others have used the 1:6 rockers with this set up that it doesn't run well, input?

Also am thinking of using a northstar water pump pulley that is smaller to get more cooling.

Trying to think of someone with a running cammed turbo 3.1...

i'm 95% sure he is running a pretty radical cam for a turbo application.

I ran one years ago in my Z24 without much of a problem. After a couple years, it started skipping. I pulled it apart, and I had a lifter somehow freeze up in it's bore. That, of course, ruined my cam lobe. But it ran great. Mine was a "V" block and if I remember correctly, it was a custom ground crank I picked up online. But I don't recall the specs. I can try to find them if you like. I still have the busted cam and the rockers from it. If you're using the 3.1 intake, you'll need to do some minor clearancing on the bottom of the intake for the bigger rockers.

Ran fine when this motor was a hybrid 3.1 T block 3400 heads 3500 intake. I'll stick with the stock rockers and the h260 cam. t2871 turbo. More to follow once it's back on the road.
