19Cutlass94
Actually calling on the 3800 guys for help on this one. I relocated my battery to the trunk, so I would be able to put an intake in that spot. What intake do you guys recommend? I would like a good quality piece, just wondering on your thoughts on what you think is best. Also how different are those areas between the Gen 1 and Gen 2? I think its about time I get rid of this stock air box.

GaPrix
I'd love something like that!
ChibiBlackSheep
I like the coldairinductions.com kit. They use the stock tube, but it doesn't look like a dryer vent, and the black powdercoating looks good.
Booba
I always was told the stock air tube is a big problem with the intakes on these cars because of the corrugation slowing the air down. That said, I made my own FWI, using the stock air tube, but I shoved the PVC into the stock air tube enough to bypass the corrugation. Here's a pic:
ChibiBlackSheep
I always was told the stock air tube is a big problem with the intakes on these cars because of the corrugation slowing the air down. I spoke with Bill from CAI.inc in length about the issue, and he said in their tests that the tube wasn't a big factor at all, and it wasn't worth the extra cost and R&D to develop an additional tube to go with their system. Which I suppose makes sense, just because it's corrugated, doesn't mean it's a huge restriction. You've already pulled the air in, and if it tumbles around a little, you have the MAF screen to straighten it back out. If I didn't have a blower in place of my stock airbox, and was looking at another CAI, I would most likely go with the CAI.inc box. I really like it on my Camaro.
